PHILADELPHIA VEGAN THANKSGIVING EVENT TO CELEBRATE ALL ANIMALS

Philadelphia, PA – On Thanksgiving Day, international animal protection organization In Defense of Animals, Public Eye: Artists for Animals, and the Vegan Spirituality Group of Philadelphia will host their 7th annual Vegan Thanksgiving Potluck, where vegans and vegetarians meet others who consciously choose a lifestyle based on compassion for all beings. The down-home community event allows people to share scrumptious potluck dishes and connect on a deeper level. Non-veg friends and family are welcome to attend.

Thanksgiving can be a challenging holiday for many vegans and vegetarians with a traditional dead turkey centerpiece. That is why so many choose to celebrate with others who share their values of compassion for all sentient beings, enjoying a peaceful holiday, without any violence on their plates. Over fifty members of the local vegan and vegetarian communities honor their ethical choices at the Philadelphia annual Vegan Thanksgiving Potluck, with delicious holiday dishes, a gratitude circle, arts-based entertainment, and a silent auction.

In addition to seasoned mash potatoes, candied yams, pumpkin-pecan pie, festive kale salads, and tofu turkeys, participants join in a gratitude circle to express their gratitude for people and animals in their lives followed by a wonderful evening program of music, performance, and sharing community news.

Date: Thursday, November 24th – Thanksgiving day

Time: 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Location: Chestnut Hill Meetinghouse, 20 E. Mermaid Lane, Philadelphia, PA 19118

Cost: $5-10 donation

Bring: A vegan (no animal products – meat, dairy, or honey) meal to share (entree, side dish, appetizer, dessert) and your own bowl, cutlery, and cup (extra will be available).
