Progress Report Dog Living at Railway Station in India

Two volunteers with In Defense of Animals India have stepped forward to watch over the dog we have referred to as the “railway dog,” and they have given him the name Angel.

Angel, living around the tracks of a railway station, was brought into the IDA India Center with jaundice, a skin rash, malnutrition, and a neck wound. After full care and treatment by our dedicated IDA India staff, Angel was fit for release.

We waited, though, until we could find someone who could feed him and keep watch over his safety. Deepa and Aishwarya are those volunteers – his personal angels. They feed him properly twice a day and keep his water bowl full.

He is healing well, and he seems relaxed and contented, living at the bridge, but away from the tracks. They will stay alert to any new illness or injury which may appear and bring him to the Center, if needed, which is not at all difficult now that Angel trusts them. Our grateful thanks to Deepa and Aishwarya!
