More Puppies in Need

A caller contacted In Defense of Animals’ hope Animal Sanctuary  and said there were eight puppies whose mother  would not feed them.  The “guardian” was an elderly person and was unable to give the special care the four- week- old puppies needed.  We  agreed to take both the mom  and the pups.

The pups were thin and covered with fleas!  What appeared to be dirt was actually piles of fleas and when disturbed they ran into the pups eyes and ears.  The poor pups were anemic from the fleas and a heavy worm load.  Too young for commercial flea products, the pups had to be bathed three times before all of the fleas were gone and they were comfortable.  Mom will be spayed and then will be ready for a home of her own.  The puppies have already found their forever homes and will be leaving us soon.

Your donations will allow us to rescue other pups in need.

Pictured are four of the pups as they played at the sanctuary.
