It's Raining Puppies and Kittens

The importance of demonstrating good guardianship by having your animal companions spayed and neutered cannot be overstated. Each year, thousands of helpless unwanted puppies and kittens are surrendered to shelters where most are killed, or they are abandoned alongside roadways and back alleys all across the country. Puppies and kittens who are just days old are left exposed in harsh environments where they inevitably starve, are devoured by predators, or worse.

Right now, In Defense of Animals’ Hope Animal Sanctuary is asked to take in these unwanted offspring at a rate of at least one litter of kittens and puppies per day. Our cattery and kennels are overflowing with rambunctious, playful and constantly hungry kittens and puppies of all types. It is only with the generous donations from IDA supporters that we are able to provide the veterinary care and food that these innocent lives deserve. Every puppy or kitten that we take in is spayed or neutered before being adopted so that for these orphans, the cycle of abandonment grinds to a halt. The road ahead is long but their final destinations are new forever loving guardians for each and every one.

If you have not already done so, please consider making a generous donation today to pledge your support for the lifesaving work that goes on at our sanctuary every day of the year. Your gift truly makes a difference.
