Waterloo, Iowa – In Defense of Animals (IDA), an international animal protection organization with over 100,000 supporters including 1,000 in Iowa, has offered a $1,500 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of whomever locked a young dog in a kennel, leaving him to slowly die, then dumped the dog and kennel on a rural road in Waterloo.
Sanitation workers found the kennel on the morning of February 16 in the 2700 block of Independence Avenue. Inside they discovered the dead dog covered in feces and urine. It appeared as though he had struggled to get out of the kennel for a long time and likely died of starvation.
IDA urges anyone with information about this horrific death to call Waterloo Animal Control at 319-291-4440.
