See Lillie Now

Lillie was rescued in September of last year by staff from In Defense of Animals’ Hope Animal Sanctuary from one of the most gruesome and horrifying hoarding cases we had ever encountered. When rescue staff arrived on scene they found dozens of dogs and even cats cruelly tethered outside on chains and ropes that sometimes measured just inches. No suitable food or water was within reach for many and with tethers so short that there was no room for the desperate animals to move to find shelter or shade.

Because of her extreme exposure and lack of care, Lillie was found to be heartworm positive, a condition which is usually a death sentence for dogs because the treatment is both expensive and time consuming. Fortunately for Lillie, and because of continued support from our generous donors, IDA was able to make the commitment to provide her with the costly and long term care her condition required.

Today Lillie is healthy and happy and shares her home with her adoptive human baby sister. Because of your kind support, IDA was able to keep its promise to one more innocent life. Because of you Lillie will never fear of slowly starving to death at the cruel end of a short chain. Because of you, Lillie found hope.
