They Take a Piece of Our Hearts

When Baby Girl came to our in Defense of Animals’ Hope Animal Sanctuary, her eye was so severely injured that we were afraid it would have to be removed.  Our caring vet, Dr. Daniel Hill at Winona Veterinary Clinic, wanted very much to try  to save her eye, so he prescribed medication and advocated very close monitoring.

After two weeks, her eye was much improved, and although she does have limited sight, she will not lose her eye.

On May 19th, Baby Girl left us as part of a transport and headed to her new destination where she found the waiting arms of her new family. This picture says it all.

We are always so happy that they find homes of their own, but they always take a little piece of our hearts with them.

Here, Debbie Clark, Director of In Defense of Animals’ Hope Animal Sanctuary says goodbye to Baby Girl as she prepares for the journey to her new home. Many thanks to Laura Higgins at North West Hills Animal Rescue for finding our Baby Girl just the right home.
