Ten-Year-Old Thanks IDA India with Art and Poetry

Ten-year-old Aarya Manoharan, a compassionate young artist, created an amazing poster and poetic slogan in recognition of IDA India staff after they had responded to a call from his father, Mr. Manoharan, requesting help for a dog in Nerul who was badly infested with maggots. Aarya, along with his friends, scouts his area regularly for injured and sick animals and dogs needing to be neutered, reaching out to IDA India for help with each one.

After much chasing and maneuvering, IDA India’s volunteer staff were finally able to contain this poor street dog. Catching dogs in the Navi, Mumbai area is a challenge, with numerous wide open spaces, and almost no fences or barriers. With mangroves and Thane creek on one side leading to the sea, and hilly terrain on the other, and with clusters of small, crowded villages and urban high rises all together in between, it is a lot of work.

The whole scene left little Aarya a bit overwhelmed, motivating him to express his feelings with words and pictures. The IDA India Staff is proud to receive this work of art with his original slogan, translated from Hindi to read: ”When IDA (India) is with you, why should you fear?”

Aarya, along with his friends, scouts his area regularly for injured and sick animals as well as dogs needing to be sterilized, reaching out to IDA India for help with each one.

This just in: Aarya’s father reports yet another successful rescue of a tiny, month-old kitten from an old cardboard box, who Aarya is fostering now. “He plans to become a wildlife veterinarian,” his father beams, “He is my inspiration.”
