Texas Trash Found Guilty for Animal Crush Video

Sometimes it’s difficult to fathom the cruelty of people. Sometimes it is difficult to control the sadness, to reign in the anger. This is the reaction felt by many after hearing of a Texas couple who were found guilty for four counts of making animal crush videos and one count for distribution.

Ashley Nicole Richards and Brent Justice were the first to be prosecuted and convicted for making an animal crush video, a film made which glorifies the torture and killing of small animals for sexual fetish. Richards was filmed committing atrocities against defenseless animals, beating and stabbing them, many of whom were tied up and fully conscious. Not only did she torture innocent animals, she did so in such a manner that can leave one to only think one thing-she is completely void of any morality.

Under President Obama’s Animal Crush Video Prohibition Act of 2010, prosecution sets a precedent for anyone else who is cruel enough to consider making such a film. Richards faces up to ten years in federal prison, but even that isn’t enough. She deserves to spend the rest of her life in prison. As for Justice, his trial is still pending, but we can only hope he receives the swift and stern justice for his cruelty. Let these two be a lesson to us all. Cruelty is alive and well, but justice will undoubtedly prevail.
