In order to raise the much-needed donations this holiday season which will allow us to continue our fight for animals throughout the coming year, IDA is participating in #Giving Tuesday as well as the CrowdRise Holiday Challenge. This year we’re not just trying to raise money, we also want to be a part of the growing social movement to reframe the holiday season as not just a time of materialism and commerce, but of charity and service to others, human and non-human alike.

#GivingTuesday is a movement created to celebrate and provide incentives to give this Holiday Season. #GivingTuesday aims to harness the power of social media to create a global moment dedicated to giving around the world. It will culminate with a global day of giving on December 3, 2013.

This #GivingTuesday, IDA’s goal is to significantly increase our number of Animal Advocates, those members who have made the commitment to support us with their automatic monthly donations. Participation in Animal Advocates is the best and easiest way for our members to ensure the largest percentage of money donated goes directly to our fight for the rights, welfare, and habitats of animals around the globe.

Crowdrise is an online fundraising platform for charities and non-profits.
IDA has joined the Crowdrise Holiday Challenge, in which teams of supporters compete to raise the most money for their charity or cause. The Challenge team that raises the most wins an additional donation of $100,000, second place gets $40,000 and third gets $20,000.

Even if your team does not get first, second or third place, IDA still gets to keep the money our donors raise. We invite you to raise money for us to fight for animals on your behalf! What will you choose: a car wash? A pet wash? A lemonade stand? Most of all, have fun and be creative!

The Crowdrise Holiday Challenge ends on January 9.
