Celebrate World GO VEGAN Days This Weekend Compassion for animals is on the menu from Oct. 27–29
This year's World GO VEGAN Days celebration is coming up this weekend from Friday, October 27th through Sunday, October 29th, so make your plans now to get together with friends and family.
As part of this campaign to promote health, environmental stewardship and compassion for animals, participating restaurants will be offering special discounts—half-price vegan meals for each meat eater dining with a vegan paying full-price. Restaurants will also present World GO VEGAN Days Specials—delicious dishes made without meat, dairy, eggs or other animal products that highlight the versatility of plant-based foods, from vegetables and grains to mock meats and cheeses.
Many people admire vegans for living out the positive values and ideals they themselves aspire to. World GO VEGAN Days is an excellent opportunity to help the meat eaters in your life understand why and how you became vegan so that perhaps they can achieve their higher aspirations. If a peaceful diet has allowed you to live more meaningfully, share that with others this weekend so that they, the animals and the planet can also benefit.
Leading up to World GO VEGAN Days, IDA's vegan spokesperson Kenneth Williams is wrapping up his East Coast speaking tour. He recently spoke in New Jersey, New York, Connecticut and at the 11th annual Boston Vegetarian Food Festival along with esteemed speakers Peter Singer, Dr. Joel Fuhrman and Dr. Michael Greger. The festival was a major event attended by ten thousand people seeking to learn more about living a healthy vegan lifestyle. With plenty of vendors on hand, attendees enjoyed tasty food samples and shopped for vegan merchandise, while at the IDA table people picked up educational literature about a range of animal protection issues. IDA thanks the Boston Vegetarian Society for inviting us to take part in this important event.
