The San Francisco Board of Supervisors signed IDA's VegDay Resolution, co-sponsored by the San Francisco Vegetarian Society on April 6, 2010. This resolution encourages the city of San Francisco to adopt a plant-based diet on Mondays. We thank the city council for their support of a green diet to help enhance the health of San Francisco residents and improve the environmental impact of the city while decreasing the suffering of animals.
If everyone in San Francisco went Veg just one day a week for a year, we would save over 378,600,768 lbs of greenhouse gas emissions. That is the equivalent of taking 123,822 cars off the streets of San Francisco!
Numerous San Francisco restaurants are participating in the day, offering discounts and specials for our VegDay Monday. Please support them and tell them that you appreciate their support of the San Francisco Veg Day!
