Vietnam Dog Thieves Threaten Animals and Humans

Vietnam Dog Thieves Threaten Animals and Humans

In one week, Vietnam saw two public cases of dog thieves targeting beloved family companions for the dog and cat meat industry.

As such incidences have happened all too often throughout the country, locals have begun taking measures into their own hands. This was the case in the first story. When two dog thieves were spotted, locals attacked. One of the men shot his rubber-bullet gun into the crowd, but none were harmed and the locals persisted until the police arrived. The two were arrested and found to be carrying all the elements carried by dog thieves, including a hand-made stun gun and duct tape.

Sadly, the three men in the second case managed to steal and poison 27 dogs before being arrested. They were apprehended transporting the dogs’ bodies on motorbikes to nearby restaurants. This is absolutely outrageous. Not only were 27 dogs stolen from their families and sentenced to die horrifying deaths by an unknown poison, but also restaurants were going to sell their flesh for human consumption. Clearly, the dog and cat meat industry has no regard for its animal victims or its human customers.
