Wolves in Great Need of Protection

Their ancestors have already endured so much suffering, persecuted by all imaginable and unimaginable methods, but gray wolves still cannot find peace. Hunters, trappers and their cohorts—the state and federal wildlife agencies—won’t allow it.

Gray wolves are struggling to recover in the Pacific Northwest, California, the southern Rocky Mountains and the Northeast, but the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS) is drafting a proposal to “delist” them in these states.

To delist means to remove from them the protections of the Endangered Species Act (ESA). This would be a death sentence for the wolves.

Loss of ESA protection has already been tragic for wolves in the Rocky Mountain States, where they have been tortured and killed in traps, gunned down by hunters and wounded and shot by bow hunters, while other wolves have been slaughtered by the government through aerial gunning and other brutal “management” methods.

Don’t allow this to happen to wolvestell the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service to keep the protection for the wolves in the Pacific Northwest, California, the southern Rocky Mountains and the Northeast!
