HB 2150 Vetoed in Arizona!

Arizona’s HB 2150 sought to strip protections from farmed animals, protections that apply to other animals, like dogs and cats. The bill would have essentially reclassified farmed animals as non-animals unworthy of any protection from abuse.

Last week, we sent an appeal to contact the governor, and the week before that, an appeal to contact Arizona senators. We asked all of you in Arizona and those of you with friends in Arizona to please do everything in your power to stop the ridiculously misnamed and harmful ag-gag type Farmed Animal Protection Act in Arizona. Your actions and the actions of all the individuals and groups working so hard on this paid off in a big way as Monday Governor Doug Ducey vetoed the bill, fulfilling previous campaign promises not to weaken animal protection laws.

A big thank you from us to all of you and to Governor Ducey!
