New Jersey Residents: Act Now to Support Nosey’s Bill for Elephants & Exotic Animals!

This alert is no longer active, but here for reference. Animals still need your help.

The New Jersey Assembly is rapidly approaching a vote on Nosey’s Bill, an Act that will prohibit the use of elephants and other wild or exotic animals in traveling animal acts. New Jersey residents have the power to get this bill passed. You can stop traveling circuses at the New Jersey state line. From bears, to elephants, to lions and zebras, you will be helping them all with your calls and emails. This legislation will become law the day it passes the legislature and is signed by the governor – help make it happen!

This legislation will ensure that many species of nonhuman animals will never again have to endure what this legislation prohibits: “… any animal act, carnival, circus, display, exhibition, exposition, fair, parade, petting zoo, presentation, public showing, race, ride, trade show, or similar undertaking in which animals perform tricks, give rides, or participate as accompaniments for the entertainment, amusement, or benefit of a live audience” if they are, “…transported to or from the location of the performance in a mobile or traveling housing facility.” Originally sponsored by now-retired Senator Lesniak, Nosey’s Bill is now championed by Assemblymen Raj Mukherji, Andrew Zwicker, and Jamel C. Holley.
