Be a Guardian - not an owner.
Animal Guardians use words to oppose animal exploitation and respect animals as living beings instead of property.
Pledge now to reject animal exploitation.
Animals are fellow beings, they are not our property, we are not their owners. Since animals should never be considered property commodities, objects or things, I will refer to them as I refer to fellow human beings - never as 'it' - but by name, or as ‘he,' 'she,' 'who' or 'they' as appropriate. I pledge to always think and act as a Guardian or protector, never as an owner or master of a fellow being. When I have the opportunity, I will urge others to do the same.
