Chicago Area: Two Days of Action for Rocky the Coyote & Spur the Tortoise!

Chicago Area: Two Days of Action for Rocky the Coyote & Spur the Tortoise!

Please join In Defense of Animals and Chicago Alliance for Animals (CAA) for two days of action to free Rocky and Spur! Activists will be protesting outside Rocky's tiny cage in Northbrook, Illinois, and outside Spur's display case at The Animal Store in Lincolnwood, Illinois.

Monday, September 19th will be the day of action for Rocky the coyote. As a pup Rocky was mistaken for a German Shepherd and was transferred to Illinois where he has been stuck in a cage for more than four years in Chicago's harsh freezing winters and hot and humid summers. We will be urging the Forest Preserves of Cook County to allow Rocky to go to the wonderful life awaiting him at The Wild Animal Sanctuary in Colorado instead of using tax dollars to imprison him in a larger cage.

Tuesday, September 20th will be our day of action to ban animal sales in Lincolnwood and free Spur, the large African sulcata tortoise who has been languishing in a tiny tiled display case at The Animal Store in Lincolnwood for more than thirty years. We will be urging Lincolnwood's trustees to enforce the law that’s already on their books which prohibits the sale of naturally wild animals, as well as opt-in to the Cook County law that bans the sale of rabbits.

WHAT:

In Defense of Animals will join Chicago Alliance for Animals to host collective protest actions. Signs will be provided.
