39 Days of rescue - Moabi
I’m Moabi!
When I was less than two years, old poachers ruthlessly murdered my mother right before my eyes! I was just a baby, but was struck in the head with a machete, most likely the very same one that was used to butcher my mother, fracturing my skull just above my left eye.
I was brought to rescue staff at In Defense of Animals – Africa by the kind and caring wife of a logging company employee. She saw how badly I had been hurt, and brought me to the sanctuary in Cameroon. I required three surgeries to repair the damage done by the poachers. I very nearly died. Now I live with 72 other rescued chimpanzees like me.
Your year-end donation to In Defense of Animals today will help provide the resources to rescue even more orphaned chimps like me and help to put a stop to wildlife poaching and the bush meat trade all over the world.
