San Francisco: Protest & Memorial for Cat Torture Video Victims

San Francisco: Protest & Memorial for Cat Torture Video Victims

Animal torture videos have increased 300% on certain social media platforms in recent months. The disturbing content typically originates in China via underground rings and is shared across the globe.

We are hosting an international day of action with our friends at Feline Guardians, Lady Freethinker, and Animal Defenders International.

Join animal advocates around the world for a protest and memorial to mourn for the cats tortured and killed for horrific online videos. This day of action is hosted by In Defense of Animals.

Innocent cats have been burned, electrocuted, boiled alive, and dismembered in these gruesome videos, which are typically found on Telegram and the dark web but are sometimes also shared on mainstream social media platforms – where children may see them, and have even been groomed to participate.

We’ll gather outside the Chinese Consulate in Los Angeles, San Francisco, and other locations globally to memorialize the victims, call for justice, and urge Chinese officials to take action to stop this horror.

Signs and banners will be provided. Please wear all black, preferably without slogans.

Please remain respectful and refrain from any sort of stereotyping or prejudice.

People from all over the globe participate in these cruel video rings, while many compassionate Chinese activists are working to stop the abuse. We aim to end the cruelty and never to insult any race or culture (which would only hurt our cause).

Whether or not you can join the protest, you can take action by posting on social media accounts and signing our alert to stop online cat torture!
