Learn to Eat Right for Your Heart from a Vegan Athlete Cardiologist

Join our next Carnivores Anonymous meeting on Monday, January 22, in Woodland Hills as we discuss how to lose weight, gain health and save animals by eating plants. This month we will be joined by Interventional Cardiologist Dr. Heather Shenkman. While Heather performs complex angioplasties to open up clogged coronary arteries, she prefers to help her patients reduce their risk of heart disease through a healthy lifestyle, including a plant-based diet and regular exercise.

Dr. Shenkman has followed a plant-based diet for thirteen years.

She is also an avid athlete, having completed over a hundred events of various distances, from sprint triathlons to Ironman distance triathlons, marathons and ultra-marathons, and several hundred-mile century cycling events.

Heather is a strong believer in a plant-based diet for heart health, as numerous studies have shown the diet capable of preventing and even reversing coronary artery disease. A plant-based diet has fueled her athletic success, and she recommends it for all her patients as well.

She blogs at veganheartdoc.com and can be followed on Twitter at @veganheartdoc and Instagram as VeganHeartDoc.

Join us at Carnivores Anonymous to meet with a group of amazing people on their path to a vegan lifestyle. Learn how to make your resolutions come true, improve your health and overcome your struggles on your plant-based journey.
