Singaporean Actor Receives Death Threats After Outing an Alleged Dog Meat Seller

Actor Andrew Seow contacted Singapore's Agri-Food and Veterinary Authority (AVA) to let it be known that he had concrete evidence of someone selling dog meat in Singapore. According to Seow, he had received a Facebook message in October of 2016 by a man requesting that Seow to try dog meat and he also said that this man has been “hunting dogs and cats in Tuas.”

Back in October after this Facebook message was received, Andrew Seow’s friend, Lim Suu Swen, went undercover and posed as a dog meat buyer to meet the seller. It was at this meeting that the alleged seller tried to sell Swen the dog meat.

While AVA is still investigating this allegation, Seow and Swen have both been allegedly receiving death threats via Facebook messages.

“A message from a man identified as "Andy" asked them to visit Geylang Lorong 7 to "settle our problem,", saying the pair owed him $80,000 because they "ruined our business" after exposing them.  Allegedly, the man also threatened to beat up the pair.

Selling dog meat is illegal in Singapore. AVA has been investigating many calls regarding the selling and slaughtering of dogs for consumption but has yet to find any concrete evidence. AVA does encourage the public to contact the agency with any photographic or video evidence of such acts.
