Ban Cruel Traveling Animal Performances in the USA!

This alert is no longer active, but here for reference. Animals still need your help.

Circuses have been allowed to cage exotic animals and ship them from town to town, hundreds of days per year, making money off of their chronic suffering. Elephants, tigers, camels, lions, monkeys and so many others are denied their natural instincts and behaviors. Packed into trucks and trailers, more suffering awaits them at every destination. They are coerced to repeat performances often learned through physical abuse and fear, accompanied by loud music, light shows, and screeching audiences. Neither children or adults learn anything about who the animals really are, or how to respect or protect them. The lack of exercise, long confinement in small transport vehicles, and unnatural life causes extreme physical and psychological stress. We can end this!

The Traveling Exotic Animal and Public Safety Protection Act (TEAPSPA), introduced by Representatives Ryan Costello (R-PA) and Raúl Grijalva (D-AZ), and championed largely by Animal Defenders International, is a bill in the House of Representatives that - if passed - would ban the use of wild animals in U.S. circuses and traveling performances. The country of Guatemala just passed a similar piece of legislation – we can too!
