Animal Advocate Spotlight: Courtney Frieh's Amazing Animal Rescue Story!
In Defense of Animals shines the spotlight on our wonderful monthly supporter, Courtney Frieh — an Animal Advocate team member! Courtney currently resides in California where as an attorney, she practices as an environmental law. When she is not working, she enjoys traveling, hiking in the wilderness, swimming, and spending time with Summit (photographed above)., Since her childhood, Courtney has a strong passion for animals in need of protection and aid, and she has since saved countless lives.
Courtney shares her amazing dog rescue effort that took place in Mexico:
“Once, I was traveling in Baja California Sur, Mexico, when I noticed an emaciated dog lying under a tree in a remote area of the desert. I returned to the dog with food and water and discovered he had a badly injured leg. He limped towards me and collapsed in my arms. I transported him to the nearest vet and discovered he had been shot. I extended my trip to allow the dog enough time to recover in the vet's office so he could be flown back to California with me. I returned to California with the dog and paid for his care and recovery until I could find him a permanent home. The dog—eventually named Bala--was adopted by a ranch in Oregon and continues to live a happy, healthy life.”
Courtney’s compassion for animals inspires us, and her monthly contribution provides us with the funds we need to save and protect animals. Thank you, Courtney! We are so grateful for your rescue efforts, and for your dedicated support!
