A Texas man was arrested after a concerned neighbor captured him on video abusing and whipping his dog this past summer. Urge the district attorney to prosecute this case to the fullest extent possible once this case is back in court.
In June of 2022, Lorenzo Johnson was arrested by the Angelino County Sheriff's Office after a video of him abusing a dog went viral on social media. Johnson was charged with felony animal cruelty and three dogs were seized from his property.

His bond conditions prevented him from “owning” or having contact with animals but a judge decided to abate the case for 30 days and returned the dogs on the condition they be vaccinated and receive veterinary attention for any conditions affecting them, after which time they would be evaluated again.
Unfortunately, when they were checked again, another extension was given after the dogs were found to be heartworm positive along with skin conditions.
Johnson finally surrendered two of his dogs, including one who was featured in the video, but still has possession of a male named Big Boy. The court has since postponed the case again for six months until a veterinarian releases an assessment of how he's doing.
