In a world where terrible things are commonly done to animals, few can compare to the horrors of “crush videos” and “crush porn.” In these horrific videos, sadists torture and kill animals. Women in high heels crush kittens, puppies, rabbits, mice, and other animals whose gruesome deaths are filmed for profit. These videos are then sold to vile people who find this sort of malicious torture entertaining. While a federal law was passed not too long ago that banned the creation, sale, and marketing of these videos, it failed to address and punish people for the actual violence done to the animals during the making of these videos.

Crimes against animals rarely come with the jail sentences that the perpetrators deserve. The Preventing Animal Cruelty and Torture Act (PACT), introduced to the Senate by Senator Pat Toomey (PA), hopes to rectify that by extending federal jurisdiction to cases involving “crush videos” or anything similar Essentially, this bill aims to treat these crimes with the severity they deserve. It’s currently in the House of Representatives after passing in the Senate and still needs our support to become a law.
