Get Justice for Dogs Abused at Louisiana Training Facility

Working with a trainer can help you bond with and improve your relationship with your dog, but it's really important to do your due diligence when choosing one. In Louisiana, a mother-daughter duo was exposed for violently abusing a dog at their facility. This was not an isolated incident. Urge the district attorney on the case to seek the maximum sentencing.

In August, the Rapides Parish Sheriff's Office launched an investigation into the now-closed Cypress Arrow K9 Academy after receiving complaints about a video on social media showing two women each holding leashes attached to a Cane Corso named Fennix, while pulling in opposite directions, while one of the women beat the struggling dog with a riding crop.

According to the lawyer representing a former employee who played a major role in blowing the whistle on abuses taking place at this facility, this video is only a small snapshot of what was happening to dogs there.

Fortunately, this case is being taken seriously. The facility's owner Tina Frey and her daughter Victoria Brimer who were seen in the video were both arrested in August and charged with two felony counts of aggravated animal cruelty. Frey was arrested again in September on an additional charge of aggravated animal cruelty.

The behavior shown in this video has been condemned for good reason; this type of dominance “training” can lead to even more fearful and defensive behavior, causing potentially dangerous issues and no dog should be subjected to it by anyone.
