A Missouri woman is only currently facing misdemeanor animal cruelty charges. Two rescue animals died under very suspicious circumstances after being left in her care by a relative who trusted her. Urge the prosecutor on this case to seek maximum penalties!

This past spring the Love family, who are animal advocates, went on vacation in Mexico and left their animals with a family member they thought they could trust. Their dog Gloria was a rescue doodle who was about to turn 5, and their cat Poodles had just joined the family a few weeks earlier after being found as a stray.

Tragically, things didn't go as planned. The family began to worry when they couldn't see the animals on their surveillance cameras, and their sitter refused to let them see Gloria on Facetime.

At that point, the family's son went to their home and found blood in the basement where Poodles was being kept to keep her safe while they were away. The sitter, Alicia Moellering, finally admitted Poodles the cat had died and also claimed that Gloria the dog ran away.

The family called the police and put an urgent plea out on social media to help find her. Unfortunately, when the son was leaving the house later he smelled something foul and discovered it was coming from Moellering's car, where he spotted Gloria's collar.

With his mother's permission, he broke a window and found Poodle's body, and then Gloria's buried in a laundry basket. Police would also find that Moellering was in possession of fentanyl and methamphetamine.

According to new reports, a necropsy found that Gloria died from puncture wounds, and while Poodles' cause of death was undetermined, her ribs were fractured.

On August 17, Moellering was finally charged with two misdemeanor counts of animal neglect and two felony counts of possessing a controlled substance.
