A Pennsylvania man is facing multiple animal cruelty charges for allegedly strangling two neighborhood cats. Demand maximum penalties in this case!

In February, the Waynesboro Police Department responded to a report of animal cruelty. Timothy Eyler was charged after confessing to police that he had strangled two community cats who lived around his apartment.

Eyler reportedly told them that “he took multiple Benadryl pills and was having high anxiety and adrenaline” when he “had a moment of rage” and “killed the cat” before confessing this wasn't the first time he had done so.

He's now facing two felony cruelty charges, each of which comes with a term of up to seven years in prison and a $15,000 fine, and two misdemeanor cruelty charges, which could result in two years in jail and a $5,000 fine.

Research consistently shows that acts of animal cruelty are not isolated incidents. They are recognized as indicators of escalating violent behavior and broader public safety concerns. Addressing such crimes with appropriate legal consequences is essential for both animal protection and community safety. The courts must start taking these sadistic crimes seriously.

Subject: Justice for Two Community Cats Brutally Strangled in Pennsylvania

I am writing to support your prosecution of Timothy Eyler, who was arrested in February for killing two community cats.

Eyler was charged with two third-degree felony charges under 18 § 5534 §§ A2 and two misdemeanor charges under 18 § 5533 §§ A. I hope you will seek the maximum lawful sentence of 7 years on each aggravated-cruelty felony count, along with full accountability on all remaining cruelty charges, in addition to seeking a mental health evaluation and a lifetime ban on being around animals.

The court must not go light on a person who has no value for life nor concern for the suffering he causes.

I’m sure you are aware that research consistently shows that acts of animal cruelty are not isolated incidents.
