WATCH: Argon’s Story Is Not Over Yet
Argon, the German shepherd who was found zip-tied and left to die in Malibu Canyon, has passed away. He endured cruelty, abandonment, and cancer, but he also experienced kindness, care, and love. His story is not over. His abuser has not yet been found.
On July 3, 2024, hikers found Argon deep in Malibu Canyon during a heatwave. His mouth and neck were zip-tied, leaving him unable to eat or drink. Thanks to their quick action, he was freed and taken to safety.
Argon was brought to the Agoura Animal Care Center for urgent care before German Shepherd Rescue of Orange County (GSROC) stepped in to take over, providing specialized medical treatment and the safe environment he needed.
He was malnourished, dehydrated, and suffering from multiple health issues, including a terrible ear infection and lymphoma. It is clear that Argon had been traumatized and was in very low spirits. But despite it all, his kind and gentle nature shone through.
Months of Love
With the support of donors, Argon received chemotherapy, giving him five months of remission. He played, ran, ate heartily, and slept in a warm bed with his adoptive guardian. See how the sad look on his face vanished completely!
Tragically, the cancer returned, and his body couldn’t fight it again. But Argon spent his final days surrounded by love and care.
