Activist Friends Stick Together

Activist Friends Stick Together

Why spend time at a vegan potluck when we could be out protesting? When activists spend time socializing together, we develop stronger bonds that connect us through thick and thin. These bonds provide the foundation to trust each other and to reach out for support when needed.

Summer is the perfect time for activists to attend social events! The Los Angeles Vegan Spirituality Group hosts a hike and beach cookout every summer. Direct Action Everywhere also offers local social events. Vegan Meetups provide opportunities to make the connections we need to build a strong activist network. When we support each other, we become a powerful force for animals!

Here are some tips to practice activist community care:

• Check activist event pages for social events, or plan one yourself!
• Exchange contact info with fellow activists.
• Check in with one another regularly.
• Reach out when you don’t see or hear from someone in awhile.

Feel empowered by connecting with fellow activists at our next online support group on Thursday, July 27, 5:00 p.m. – 6 p.m. PDT (8:00 p.m. – 9 p.m. EDT) hosted by Sustainable Activism Campaign Director Lisa Levinson.
