Activists Descend Upon Los Angeles for the Animal Rights National Conference

In Defense of Animals staff and volunteers joined activists from around the world to learn, network, and share resources at the Animal Rights National Conference. We were thrilled to participate in this eye-opening and uplifting gathering of hearts and minds, all dedicated to saving animals from unspeakable torture in the food, fashion, entertainment, and pharmaceutical industries.

In Defense of Animals President, Dr. Marilyn Kroplick co-facilitated a support group with vegan psychologist and author Clare Mann, which provided an opportunity to practice sustainable activism with fellow activists.

Communications Director Fleur Dawes shared her favorite techniques to amplify our activist messages in the media while our campaigner Lisa Levinson encouraged attendees to get active for local wild animals via efforts to promote wildlife crossings and prevent rodenticide poisons from affecting the entire predatory food web.

We also hosted a Carnivores Anonymous Meeting featuring youth activist VeganEvan, a support group for members of our community who suffered from sexual harassment, and an Interfaith Vegan Coalition Meeting to help spiritual activists veganize their places of worship.

We thank those of you who joined our special programs or who otherwise participated in the conference. It was a real treat to connect with you at our exhibit booths.
