Connect with Fellow Activists for the Animals' Sake
Are you an activist who tends to work in a vacuum, doing everything from rescuing animals, leafleting in front of stores, to helping your friends go vegan by yourself? If so, you may increase your effectiveness by working alongside and speaking with fellow activists.
Conversations among activists are essential to ensure the success of the animal rights movement. Working together, we can build a strong and resilient activist community. Whether we attend the National Animal Rights Conference or a local activist meeting, we can all benefit from communicating with each other regularly. At online or in-person meetings, we can network, share resources, and support each other.
Last weekend, representatives from In Defense of Animals and other Los Angeles activist groups met to discuss local activist events, brainstorm ideas, and support each other. Vegan United Nations hosts this monthly meeting where different activist groups work together to reduce potential conflict. We learned about resources offered from each of the other groups and coordinated the dates for upcoming events.
Experience the benefits of speaking with fellow activists at our next online support group on Thursday, June 22, 5:00 p.m. – 6 p.m. PDT (8:00 p.m. – 9 p.m. EDT) hosted by Sustainable Activism Campaign Director Lisa Levinson.
