Dog as My Doctor, Cat as My Nurse
Do you feel better around companion animals? Have you ever wondered whether your fur-babies are healers? Acupuncturist, plant-based nutritional consultant, and animal advocate Carlyn Montes De Oca just wrote a book on the topic!
You may recognize Carlyn, who was voted PETA’s Sexiest Vegetarian Over 50 and as a spokesperson for our Guardian Campaign. Since then, Carlyn founded The Animal-Human Health Connection to bring awareness to the many powerful ways that animals enhance human health, happiness, and longevity.
With a master’s degree in Traditional Chinese Medicine and a plant-based nutrition certificate from the T. Colin Campbell Center for Nutritional Studies at Cornell University, Carlyn was well-equipped to write her new book, "Dog as My Doctor, Cat as My Nurse: An Animal Lover's Guide to a Healthy, Happy and Extraordinary Life.”
Carlyn shares her healing insights with us during our next Vegan Spirituality Online Gathering on Thursday, March 9, 5:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. PST (8:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. EST). Participate by phone or online with your hosts “Peace to All Beings” author Judy Carman and In Defense of Animals’ Sustainable Activism Campaign Director Lisa Levinson.
