Is Sexism Harming Our Activism for Animals?

Is Sexism Harming Our Activism for Animals?

Activist Appreciation Month is the perfect opportunity to improve activist solidarity and communication by delving into issues that affect our animal rights community. Sexism is part of our culture and part of our movement. How can we tell if there is sexism in the movement? What’s wrong with it? Does it cause any harm? If so, how can we change it? Please join our webinar if you'd like to heighten your understanding of the problems that arise when sexism is present in the movement and to brainstorm solutions.

Philosopher-activist and professor, Dr. Kemmerer facilitates our discussion. She is known internationally for social justice work on behalf of animals, the environment, and disempowered human beings. An activist for decades, she has written many books, including Eating Earth: Environmental Ethics and Dietary Choice, Animals and World Religions, and Sister Species: Women, Animals, and Social Justice. She has edited many collections of thought-provoking essays as well.

Join the discussion during our next Sustainable Activism Webinar on Thursday, February 1, 5 pm – 6 pm PT (8 pm – 9 pm ET). You can join this live webinar via phone or online, or listen to the replay later.
