UCLA Protest: World Day for Animals in Labs (Friday, April 26)

Most people assume that major universities no longer experiment on live animals or that the few experiments are medically justified. Unfortunately, our complacent assumptions are false. That’s why In Defense of Animals joins with People for Reason in Science and Medicine for a global day of protest against vivisection, the use of live animals in cruel, outdated experiments.

UCLA lives up to its barbaric reputation of abusing thousands of animals in painful and useless experiments. Together, hundreds of animal activists will march through the UCLA campus chanting and wearing red to raise awareness about horrific animal suffering only visible behind closed doors.

#UCLAKILLSANIMALS Freeway Light Brigade (Friday, April 26)

After the UCLA Protest, join us for a second event as part of World Week for Animals in Laboratories. In Defense of Animals teams with Progress for Science (P4S) to show Los Angeles that UCLA continues to experiment on live animals.

According to a recent survey, 73% more animals have been used in experiments in recent years. To raise awareness, we will light up a major freeway overpass with help from the Overpass Light Brigade of San Diego. Meet us to hold the letter boards spelling out #UCLAKILLSANIMALS and to leaflet passersby.
