Our updated Vegan Starter Guides were a big hit at the annual SoCal VegFest held at the end of September in Costa Mesa, California, where people returned en masse this year after a Covid hiatus of several years. We distributed hundreds of our popular guides as well as other campaign literature and also provided a tranquil exhibit space to contemplate compassion for animals as observed in various religions for over 20,000 festival-goers.

The exhibit displays the teachings of major world religions and indigenous traditions on ethics and animals. Curated by scholar and author of Animals and World Religions, Dr. Lisa Kemmerer delves into spiritual philosophy, sacred stories, key terms, and beloved saints.

The teachings implore us to protect the vulnerable, respect life, and be kind using quotes from religious leaders like Gandhi, Mohammed, and Jesus, and passages from the sacred texts of Genesis, the Dhammapada, and the Mahabharata.
