Stop Egypt from Poisoning & Shooting & Exporting Dogs and Cats for Meat

This alert is no longer active, but here for reference. Animals still need your help.

WARNING: GRAPHIC IMAGES

The Egyptian government has declared one of two fates for street dogs and cats: either be poisoned or shot to death or be exported for cruel slaughter. The Ministry of Agriculture and Land Reclamation plans to export over four thousand homeless dogs and cats to Asian meat dealers unless we join forces with local activists to stop them. We can’t let this happen!

Without any Egyptian animal protection laws or international agreements to prevent the live export of dogs and cats, local animal activists reached out to us for help. They seek international pressure to protect local animals from both fates.

Can you imagine dogs and cats being ruthlessly poisoned, shot, or transported to slaughter in searing heat and deplorable conditions? Upon arrival in foreign lands, these weakened animals will suffer even more cruel torture before being slaughtered for their flesh.
