Stop Eviction of Point Reyes Tule Elk!

Stop Eviction of Point Reyes Tule Elk!

This alert is inactive but Tule elk still need your immediate help here.

U.S. Representatives Jared Huffman (D-California) and Rob Bishop (R-Utah) just threw a legislative curve ball in an attempt to evict native Tule elk from California’s Point Reyes National Seashore. This devious plan was made to continue to allow the destructive and controversial private cattle ranching practice taking place on our public lands. We must act now to save the Tule elk and stop this injustice!

H.R. 6687 would separate native Tule elk from cattle grazing areas, which could force the removal of the Drakes Beach elk herd from their home and prevent the National Park Service from altering current cattle-grazing practices that devastate local ecology. If this bill passes, it would end the public environmental process to review cattle practices established last year and devastate these rare elk, once near extinction. We can’t let politicians constantly continue to favor commercial cattle ranching over native wildlife!

Stop this political travesty and support hard-won activist efforts to protect the Drakes Beach elk herd. Tell your U.S. representative to vote against this destructive bill and to advocate for free-ranging Tule elk at Point Reyes National Seashore.
