New Hampshire Residents: Join our Protest in Manchester to Show Your Support for a Recreational Trapping Ban

We are coming together in the midst of New Hampshire’s trapping season to express support for a statewide recreational trapping ban, and in solidarity with the thousands of animals who suffer in leghold traps and are torturously killed.

Join In Defense of Animals and New Hampshire Citizens Against Recreational Trapping on Saturday, November 12, from 12:00-1:00 p.m. to raise awareness of the cruelty of trapping and to garner support for a recreational trapping ban. The protest will be held at the Massabesic Traffic Circle in Manchester.

The majority of New Hampshire residents actually do not actively trap. In fact, the state issued only 422 trapping licenses in 2020-2021, a number that has continued to decrease over the previous years. In contrast, NH Citizens Against Recreational Trapping has over 3,700 followers on Facebook.

New Hampshire is long overdue for a ban of recreational trapping. It is a cruel and inhumane practice, and no longer a part of New Hampshire’s economy, as fur is outdated and no longer a source of income for trappers.

The protest will be held in conjunction with the release of a new anti-trapping billboard..

Come join us to express your support for this cause and to encourage a statewide trapping ban.
