Michigan: Join the Fight to Protect Geese from Cruel Gassing

Michigan: Join the Fight to Protect Geese from Cruel Gassing

Michigan residents are coming together to protest the state’s cruel and unnecessary roundup and gassing of Canada geese. Permits have been issued to kill entire flocks based on misleading claims about pollution and overpopulation, while the real threats to our waterways—like runoff and septic leaks—are being ignored.

Last year, 108 Canada geese were killed at Lake Sherwood—66 goslings and 44 adults—under state-issued permits. Protesters will now gather at the lake to call on the DNR and Governor Whitmer to place an immediate moratorium on all gassing and slaughter of Canada geese.

Join us on Saturday, May 10, 2025, to demand better for Michigan’s geese and ecosystems. It’s time for science-backed, non-lethal solutions that prioritize compassion and environmental health.
