We’ve partnered with the Cougar Conservancy and Kindred Spirits Care Farm to foster peaceful coexistence with resident mountain lions in a groundbreaking new project! With contributions from generous supporters like you, we funded the purchase of a large barn to fully house Kindred Spirits’ animal residents at night. The enclosed barn will prevent human-cougar conflicts and serve as a model for other sanctuaries.

Now it’s time to install the barn! Join us at Kindred Spirits Care Farm’s Volunteer Day this Saturday, December 11 to ensure sanctuary residents are warm and safe at night. Don’t miss this exciting opportunity to roll up your sleeves and volunteer for a worthy cause! Plus, you can visit with adorable animals who reside at the sanctuary.

Our volunteer day begins at 9 a.m., but you can join us later if needed. Please arrive before 10 a.m. In Defense of Animals will give free t-shirts to the first 20 volunteers to arrive. Wear clothes you can get dirty, closed-toed shoes, and your favorite hat. Gloves will be provided. Remember to bring sunscreen, if needed. We will work until noon when Kindred Spirits will prepare a delicious free vegan lunch to thank everyone for their help!
