Michigan: Protect Geese & Communities Roundtable Discussion

Michigan: Protect Geese & Communities Roundtable Discussion

On October 10, 2024, the Michigan Natural Resources Commission unanimously approved a new policy to cruelly roundup and ruthlessly gas Canada geese to death instead of relocating them. This barbaric practice must be stopped.

Property owners, lake associations, and municipalities may now apply for permits from the Department of Natural Resources to contract with the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s killing arm, Wildlife Services, to gas geese to death.

In response to this recent decision, In Defense of Animals' National Goose Protection Coalition invites you to join a free webinar featuring non-lethal goose deterrent products with company representatives, water quality experts, and goose advocacy leaders. We need your help to promote humane alternatives to save geese in your community!

Join us to gain insight into humane solutions to prevent conflicts with geese, support ethical practices to coexist with wild animals, and connect with others who care about protecting both our state’s wild animals and our human communities.

We welcome Michigan property owners, business owners, residents interacting with geese, and anyone interested in learning about non-lethal wildlife mitigation.
