During California’s drought this year, more than 18 rare Tule elk died in a preserve at Point Reyes National Seashore. These native animals cannot reach reliable water sources because of an 8-foot-tall fence which saves all the precious aquatic resources for private ranchers. Before the drought broke, 20 daring animal activists banded together to deliver water. But their precious gift for the thirsty elk was sabotaged... by the Tule elks’ own negligent guardians.
