No Deer Massacre By Bows and Arrows

Urban Deer Hall of Shame Welcomes Mayor Bain of Pepper Pike, Ohio

The city of Pepper Pike, Ohio is home to a population of 265 deer, who are apparently too many for Mayor Richard Bain and the city council to tolerate living among. So, beginning this spring, archers will shoot deer, including pregnant does and deer mothers and their fawns.

As a former city council member, Mayor Bain voted in support of the cruel and barbaric trap and captive bolt method for deer, where deer are baited into a trap before an agent fires the bolt gun, a four-inch retractable steel rod, into the deer’s skull. The bolt gun is often misfired into the deer’s eye, jaw, ear, or nose, thus adding prolonged suffering preceding death of already terrified animals.

Now, as Mayor Bain, he wants archers to shoot innocent and unsuspecting deer with arrows, an extremely cruel method as most deer are not rendered immediately unconscious and death usually takes place over several minutes, or at the very least, while they experience unfathomable pain and fear. Many deer are not killed by the arrow, and run off, wounded and suffering, only to die many days later from infection.
