In Defense of Animals Offers $500 Reward for Return of Missing Dog

Dog lost in Simpson County on the same day he was adopted

Grenada, Miss. (January 27, 2015) – In Defense of Animals (IDA), the international animal protection organization that operates Hope Animal Sanctuary in Grenada, Mississippi, is offering a $500 reward for information leading to the safe return of Harry, a large light yellow Labrador and Golden Retriever mix. Harry ran away from his new home on Emmett Brown Road in Simpson County on November 17, 2014, just days after Harry was adopted from the Petsmart in Flowood, Mississippi.

Representatives of In Defense of Animals saturated the rural area with flyers, alerted law enforcement and animal control, contacted regional social media, the newspaper, and county road services. Mail delivery personnel making stops in the area were also given flyers, all to no avail.

“Our staff and volunteer teams have spent many hours in the area looking for Harry. We’ve been there night and day and we’ve left food with local residents who thought they had seen Harry,” said Doll Stanley, director of Hope Animal Sanctuary. Harry is an extremely shy dog and won’t readily approach people. However, he does like dogs and will possibly approach dogs being walked. Stanley added, “We are devastated at his loss and are asking anyone with any information that might lead to Harry’s safe return to please contact us.”

Anyone with information about Harry is asked to contact Hope Animal Sanctuary by calling or texting Director Doll Stanley (662) 809-4483 or Adoption Coordinator Debbie Young at (601) 750-4723.
