First Ever Activist Appreciation Month!

First Ever Activist Appreciation Month!

In Defense of Animals is proud to present February as our first ever Activist Appreciation Month! To celebrate, we’re holding a free webinar on ecofeminism.

Ecofeminism shows us how vital it is for animal activists to stand up against racism, sexism, ableism, heterosexism, and environmental destruction, while we work to protect all animals, from cats to koalas. Join author, professor, and activist Lisa Kemmerer for a lively discussion.

You can participate by phone, smartphone or computer on Thursday, February 4, 5:00 p.m. – 6 p.m. PST (8:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. EST).

Register now for our Sustainable Activism Webinar with Professor Lisa Kemmerer.

Show your support and connect with other participants on Facebook.

Lisa Kemmerer is a philosopher-activist working on behalf of nonhuman animals, the environment, and disempowered human beings. A professor of philosophy and religions at Montana State University Billings, and graduate of Reed, Harvard, and Glasgow University (Scotland), Kemmerer has written/edited nine books, including “Eating Earth: Environmental Ethics and Dietary Choice,” “Animals and World Religions,” “Animals and the Environment: Advocacy, activism, and the quest for common ground,” and “Sister Species: Women, Animals, and Social Justice.”

Many thanks to Nonviolent Communication Expert Tera Gardner, who shared the four-step Nonviolent Communication model that promotes empathy and encourages effective activism during our January webinar! Watch a replay here.
