“Maverick Mustangs of the Salt River” Photography Exhibit

Join Us on January 9th in Sherman Oaks, CA

IDA invites you to a photography and video exhibition that raises awareness about the plight of wild horses in Salt River, Arizona and the American West who are currently being targeted by the United States government. The federal government’s Bureau of Land Management (BLM) removes wild horses from public lands and auctions them for slaughter by the tens of thousands. Wild horses are cruelly rounded up by helicopter, held in deplorable conditions, and are often brutally killed. Over 60,000 horses are currently being held in inhumane and substandard conditions at tax payers’ expense. Wild horses desperately need our help to stop this genocide, which is also happening to wild horses in Canada and to brumbies in Australia. Photographer Tom Porter shares our conviction that these captive wild horses should be returned to their homes in the wild.

“I went with ecologist Craig Downer, author of The Wild Horse Conspiracy, to Nevada and Arizona to do a pictorial and video essay on these free spirits, who are innocent persecuted victims.” ~ Photographer Tom Porter
