It’s a whole new year ahead of us. A new year full of opportunities to make the world a better place for the animals with whom we share our lives and our planet.Located in rural Mississippi, In Defense of Animals’ Hope Animal Sanctuary (HAS) is already bursting out of the gate, fighting for animals who have been abused and neglected. One of these lucky animals is ‘Lil Thang’ who is starting the year with his new life at his new forever home.

He was named ‘Lil Thang’ because he was the smallest by far of several puppies found in a cardboard box at a Fall Festival next to a sign reading, “Free to good home.” Rescue staff at HAS knew all too well that signs like these usually spell misery and torment for the innocent lives they purport to be helping. ‘Lil Thang’ required a lot of love and care as well as proper nutrition and veterinary care, but now he is healthy and happy and enjoying his new life and the endless possibilities to be found in the new year ahead.
