VICTORY: 300 Abandoned Animals Safely Transported Out of Afghanistan!

VICTORY: 300 Abandoned Animals Safely Transported Out of Afghanistan!

Great news! After the U.S. military evacuated Afghanistan, over 300 animals were left to fend for themselves. We asked you to join our urgent efforts to urge the Department of Defense, State Department, and President Biden to facilitate the import of all military contract working dogs, as well as any animals in need of rescue, into the U.S. Now, we are thrilled to share the news that 300 animals who were abandoned in Afghanistan have been rescued!

After five months of tireless efforts calling for their safe passage by Kabul Small Animal Rescue and activists around the world, No Dogs Left Behind and SPCA International have successfully transported 171 dogs and 146 cats out of the war-torn city of Kabul to Vancouver, Canada. Some are now up for adoption!

Huge thanks to the nearly 14,000 In Defense of Animals supporters who took action. You made a difference by signing our alert demanding that these animals receive safe passage home. Our sincere gratitude is extended to Kabul Small Animal Rescue, No Dogs Left Behind, SPCA International, and everyone involved in saving these animals who were in desperate need!
